Yurgos Politis

Yurgos Politis completed a four-year Physics degree at the University of Athens and qualified as a Physics teacher. He undertook a Master’s in Education and a PhD in Physics Education in University College Dublin. He has taught at both the second and third level and has been a teaching and research assistant and/or postdoctoral researcher in the Schools of Physics and Education in UCD, NUI Galway, UCC, and IT Tralee. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher on three EC-funded projects: 1) ESRALE (http://www.socio.uvt.ro/st-educ/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Flyer_ESRALE_version01-1.pdf), 2) COMMIT (http://www.eucen.eu/COMMIT), 3) Inclusive Learning (http://www.inclusive-learning.eu/project). Previous significant research work he was involved in includes The Academic Profession in Europe: Responses to Societal Change (EUROAC) project and the European Commission MORE2 project. Dr. Politis secured funding from ESF to host a colloquium in Dublin (13-14 April 2013). He is a founding member of the Early Career Higher Education Researchers’ (ECHER) network that was established in 2011.
