Introduction

The study of multi-point boundary value problems for linear second-order ordinary value problems was initialed by Llyin and Moisser (1987). Then Gupta studied three-point boundary value problems for nonlinear ordinary differential equations. We refer the reader to the reference (Gupta et al., 1994; Feng et al., 1997; Ma, 2001; Sun, 2005) for some recent results of nonlinear multi-point boundary value problems.

In this paper, we investigate the existence of positive solutions to nonlinear second-order multi-point boundary value problems:jalr.2011010103.m06, jalr.2011010103.m07(1.1)jalr.2011010103.m08, jalr.2011010103.m09(1.2) where jalr.2011010103.m10 for jalr.2011010103.m11 and jalr.2011010103.m12, jalr.2011010103.m13 satisfy jalr.2011010103.m14 and jalr.2011010103.m15. We also make the following assumptions.

(jalr.2011010103.m16) jalr.2011010103.m17

(jalr.2011010103.m18) There are real numbers jalr.2011010103.m19, jalr.2011010103.m20 satisfying jalr.2011010103.m21 on jalr.2011010103.m22 and jalr.2011010103.m23 on jalr.2011010103.m24, where jalr.2011010103.m25 and jalr.2011010103.m26 or

(jalr.2011010103.m27) there are real numbers jalr.2011010103.m28, jalr.2011010103.m29 satisfying jalr.2011010103.m30 on jalr.2011010103.m31 and jalr.2011010103.m32 on jalr.2011010103.m33.
