Submit a Journal Proposal

Overseeing a new Journal as Editor-in-Chief provides you the unique opportunity to directly support the development of your field of interest. Through networking with your colleagues and international experts, your journal may be recognized for its contribution to your field through representation in some of the most prestigious international indices.

We are currently accepting proposals for new journals. We invite you to please complete our proposal criteria below and send as an attachment to IGIAcquisition@igi-global.com.

1. 3-5 ALTERNATIVE TITLES for the journal that will distinguish your theme from competing titles

2. The OVERALL MISSION of this journal

3. The OVERALL SCOPE of this journal and the areas in which it will impact

4. POSSIBLE TOPICS to be covered by this journal

5. POSSIBLE READERSHIP/AUDIENCES and how the availability of such literature will aid this prospective audience

6. COMPETING JOURNALS, both in print and electronic formats, and their strengths and weaknesses in comparison to your proposed publication

7. FREQUENCY of publication

8. Possible LIST OF ASSOCIATE EDITORS AND EDITORIAL REVIEW BOARD (tentative)

9. Paper SUBMISSION AND EVALUATION PROCESSES (must use a blind peer-review process with a minimum of 3 reviews per submission)

10. PLAN FOR REACHING CONTRIBUTORS AND RECRUITING SUBMISSIONS to build a network of contacts and venues to post Calls for Papers (List-Servs, Universities, etc.)

11. ESTIMATED RESEARCH INTEREST AND ACTIVITY within field including approximate number of researchers actively working and publishing within proposed coverage.

12. TARGETED INDICES AND DIRECTORIES for representation of journal (Thomson Scientific [ISI], PubMed, EBSCOhost, etc.)

13. PROJECTED TIMETABLE for producing the first issue

14. COMPLETE MAILING ADDRESS, phone, fax and e-mail information

15. CURRICULUM VITAE of Editor(s)
