Editor/Author Biographies

Kostas Metaxiotis, (PhD), is an assistant professor at the University of Piraeus and has served as Senior Advisor to the Secretary for the Information Society in the Greek Ministry of Economy and Finance since 2004. He has wide experience in knowledge management, artificial intelligence, objectoriented knowledge modelling, inference mechanisms, e-health, e-business. Dr. Metaxiotis has published more than 70 scientific papers in various journals and conferences, such as Journal of Knowledge Management, Journal of Information and Knowledge Management, Knowledge Management & Practice, Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Management & Data Systems, Journal of Computer Information Systems. Currently, he is a member of several editorial boards and reviews in many leading journals in the field. He is also a member of the Program Committee at international conferences. Since 1996 he has been participating in various European Commission (EC)-funded projects within Tacis, Phare, MEDA and IST Programmes as Senior ICT Consultant and Manager. Since 2007 he has been serving as External Evaluator of EC-funded ICT projects.
