Abstract
Data mining is the process of extracting previously unknown information from large databases or data warehouses and using it to make crucial business decisions. Data mining tools find patterns in the data and infer rules from them. The extracted information can be used to form a prediction or classification model, identify relations between database records, or provide a summary of the databases being mined. Those patterns and rules can be used to guide decision making and forecast the effect of those decisions, and data mining can speed analysis by focusing attention on the most important variables.

Visualization as a Knowledge Transfer
Information abstracted in a schematic form to provide visual insights into sets of data. Data visualization enables us to go from the abstract numbers in a computer program (ones and zeros) to visual interpretation of data. Text visualization means converting textual information into graphic representation, so we can see information without having to read the data, as tables, histograms, pie or bar charts, or Cartesian coordinates.

Visualizing Indicators of Debt Crises in a Lower Dimension: A Self-Organizing Maps Approach
Data visualization techniques create visual representations, often in lower dimensions, of multidimensional data. In other words, data sets consisting of many analyzed variables can be monitored effectively and intuitively by graphical means. This is extremely important in exploratory analyses, since their main task is to improve the users’ comprehension of the research problem addressed.
