Abstract
The digital transformation has brought new challenges to organizations identifying, recognizing, and reconfiguring technological challenges into opportunities. In this understanding of opportunities, design thinking (DT) can be an engine of sustainable innovation, enabling organizations to acquire a competitive advantage. Thus, problem approach is the ability to combine empathy in a problem context in order to place individuals at the center of project development generating creative capabilities to adopt in solutions. A systematic review of bibliometric literature (LRSB) of scientific and/or academic documents indexed in Scopus is done. However, the DT literature is highly fragmented, requiring development. This chapter draws on a rigorous LRSB methodology to understand the application of DT to business innovation in order to verify research themes and development patterns.
