The International Journal of Nanotechnology and Molecular Computation (IJNMC) publishes groundbreaking and innovative research in all areas of nanotechnology and molecular computation. These include, but are not limited to, theoretical, empirical, and technological research on all forms of molecular and chemical computing (DNA, RNA, peptide, etc.), membrane computing, carbon nanotubes and other nanoscale devices, quantum information processing, nanocomputation, algorithmic assembly and morphogenesis, complex adaptive matter and intelligent materials, molecular machines, nanorobotics, and new computational paradigms appropriate to nanotechnology. IJNMC is especially seeking papers in the fruitful interdisciplinary field where nanoscience and computer science meet. IJNMC encourages submissions in all areas of nanotechnology and molecular computation. These include, but are not limited to, theoretical, empirical, and technological research on all forms of molecular and chemical computing (DNA, RNA, peptide, etc.), membrane computing, carbon nanotubes and other nanoscale devices, quantum information processing, nanocomputation, algorithmic assembly and morphogenesis, complex adaptive matter and intelligent materials, molecular machines, nanorobotics, and new computational paradigms appropriate to nanotechnology.

The primary objective of International Journal of Nanotechnology and Molecular Computation (IJNMC) is to publish groundbreaking and innovative research in nanotechnology and molecular computation, with a focus on the fruitful interdisciplinary field where nanoscience and computer science meet. In the past, there has been a large difference between the scale at which computation takes place and the scale of the underlying physical processes. Now, however, the quest for greater computational speeds and densities is forcing computation closer to the physical processes that implement it. This will require the development of new computational paradigms that are massively parallel, asynchronous, and defect- and fault-tolerant. On the other hand, algorithmic concepts and the computational principles governing self-assembly and self-organization in living and nonliving natural systems provide models that can be applied or adapted to nanotechnology. Although we normally think of computation as the use of physical processes to realize abstract information processing, we can equally use computational principles to govern the nanoscale reorganization of matter and to control its behavior.

Editor(s)-in-Chief Biography
Bruce MacLennan received a BS (1972) in mathematics (with honors) from Florida State University and a MS (1974) and PhD (1975) in computer science from Purdue University. He joined Intel Corporation in 1975 where as a senior software engineer, he worked on the architectures of the 8086 and the iAPX-432 processors. In 1979 he returned to academia, joining the computer science faculty of the Naval Postgraduate School (Monterey, CA), where he was an assistant professor (1979–83), an associate professor (1983–7), and Acting Chair (1984–5). At NPS he investigated novel models for massively parallel computing and artificial intelligence. Since 1987, he has been a member of the electrical engineering and computer science Faculty of the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, USA).
MacLennan has been especially interested in the emergence of self-organized communication systems, and this research produced the first demonstration (1989) of the evolution of communication in a population of machines. In recognition of this research, MacLennan was elected as Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Studies of the Collegium Budapest, and in 1997 he spent the summer there investigating the evolution of communication and combinator-based models of pre-biotic chemical evolution. As a consequence, in the late 90s he began a new research project, a theoretical investigation of the application of molecular computing to nanostructure synthesis and control. (This work was eventually supported by an NSF Nanoscale Exploratory Research Grant).
For the last two decades MacLennan’s research has focused on novel models of computation intended to better exploit physical processes for computation and to provide new concepts of information representation and processing in natural and artificial systems. His research now focuses on natural computation and self-organization. In June 2005, he presented an invited paper, “The Nature of Computation — Computation in Nature,” at the workshop of Natural Processes and New Models of Computation” organized by the University of Bologna. Most recently, in September 2006, he gave an invited presentation “Super-Turing or Non-Turing?” at the workshop Future Trends in Hypercomputation (Sheffield, UK).
MacLennan has published more than fifty refereed journal articles and book chapters and has had two books published (one in its third edition). He has created more than sixty invited or refereed presentations. MacLennan is a member of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and IEEE Computer Society, and the International Society for Nanoscale Science, Computation and Engineering. Since 1988 he has been a BBS Associate (qualified commentator) for the journal
Behavioral and Brain Sciences.
Keshav Deo Verma has an outstanding educational record. He always stood first division throughout his educational carrier and is a Gold Medalist student of his time, he is recipient of national scholarship during his education. He completed B.Sc. & M. Sc. with First Division in 1986 & 1988 respectively, M. Phil. with high first division in 1989, M. Tech. with high first division and awarded Ph.D. also (He Earned his All Degrees from Accredited Universities with high grade by NAAC-an Apex body of Govt. of India).He has more than 21 years of teaching & research experience. During this period Dr. Verma has also served in the various administrative capacities. He has served as Dean of Students Welfare, Chief Proctor, Convener U.G.C. Cell and several other important capacities. Currently he is working as chairman / head, department of physics at S.V. (P.G.) College (A Premier College of Post Graduate Studies & Research Established in 1947, Accredited with high grade by NAAC- an apex body of Government of India), Aligarh, India. He is Founder Head / Director of Material Science Research Laboratory (MSRL).He has a large number of research papers in his credit; He has published several papers in the journals having very high IMPACT FACTOR. He is Editor-in-Chief, Editor and Reviewer of several international journals of high repute. He has research collaborations with various International research groups and actively contributing in the research activities. He is Life member / Senior Member / Member various International Associations, Societies and Scientific Committees. Dr. Verma guided/Guiding several research scholars for their PhD and PG thesis. He has successfully completed a number of Research projects as Principal Investigator sponsored by various Government agencies of international repute. He has organized several conferences, seminars, research meetings. He has been invited from several institutions and conferences of high repute to deliver expert lecturers/ invited expert talks and invited speech in diverse fields.
