Thomson Scientific Computes Impact Factor® of 1.222
Newly released metrics from Thomson Scientific, publisher of the most widely recognized ranking system for scholarly journals, recognizes the reputation of the Journal of Global Information Management with a newly attained impact factor of 1.222.
"I am very pleased and proud to announce that the Journal of Global Information Management has achieved an impact factor of 1.222," said Dr. Felix Tan, JGIM's Editor-in-Chief. "This is better than 2007, and we are continuously improving each year” he said.
Created by Thomson Scientific (formerly the Institute for Scientific Information [ISI]), the Impact Factor is a widely recognized classification of a journal's influence and reputation within the scholarly community, based on the ratio, during a defined period of years, of citations of a journal's articles to the total number of articles published.
"As always, it is good to receive such great news about the impact factor regarding JGIM," said Dr. Mehdi Khosrow-Pour, D.B.A., IGI Global's President and Publisher. "We are very pleased and would like to thank Dr. Tan for all his efforts and commitment to this journal."
As one of the most accomplished journals contained in InfoSci-Journals, the Journal of Global Information Management has been playing an important role in providing a forum for researchers and practitioners to share leading-edge knowledge in the global information resource management area since 1993. Consolidating three different types of articles, including research papers, research notes, and research reviews, JGIM provides information technology scholars, researchers, and practitioners with original material concerning all aspects of the development, use, and management of information technology in a global context.
