IGI Global's Journal Receives 2.345 Impact Factor

Thomson Scientific Computes Impact Factor® of 2.345

Newly released metrics from Thomson Scientific, publisher of the most widely recognized ranking system for scholarly journals, recognizes the reputation of International Journal on Semantic Web and Information Systems with a high impact factor of 2.345.

"I am very pleased and proud to announce that IJSWIS has achieved an impact factor of 2.345," said Dr. Amit Sheth, PhD, IJSWIS's Editor-in-Chief.

Created by Thomson Scientific (formerly the Institute for Scientific Information [ISI]), the Impact Factor is a widely recognized classification of a journal's influence and reputation within the scholarly community, based on the ratio, during a defined period of years, of citations of a journal's articles to the total number of articles published.

"It is good to receive such great news about the impact factor regarding IJSWIS," said Dr. Mehdi Khosrow-Pour, D.B.A., IGI Global's President and Publisher. "We are very pleased and would like to thank Dr. Sheth for all his efforts, dedication, and commitment to this journal."

Published by IGI Global since 2005, IJSWIS promotes a knowledge transfer channel where academics, practitioners, and researchers can discuss, analyze, criticize, synthesize, communicate, elaborate, and simplify the more-than-promising technology of the semantic Web in the context of information systems. The journal aims to establish value-adding knowledge transfer and personal development channels in three distinctive areas: academia, industry, and government.
