IGI Global, in collaboration with Elluminate and Dr. Janet Salmons (IGI Global’s Collaborative Technology Adviser), breaks prior online symposium records with over 750 researchers, academicians, and librarians from across the globe registered to attend the recent Teaching with Online Games webinar. 

The free event, led by University of Vermont (USA) professor Dr. David Gibson (editor of recently released books Digital Simulations for Improving Education: Learning Through Artificial Teaching Environments and Games and Simulations in Online Learning: Research and Development Frameworks , was held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 and discussed new ideas, research, and reflections in the potential of games and simulations to improve teaching and learning.  University of Florida professor Dr. Rick Ferdig also spoke about the release of his upcoming e-gaming journal, the International Journal of Gaming and Computer-Mediated Simulations, and touched on his latest publication, the Handbook of Research on Effective Electronic Gaming in Education .  A link to a recording is now posted at: http://www.igi-global.com/reference/details.asp?id=9691 for future viewing.
