Acclaimed Editor Dr. Badrul KhanDr. Badrul H. Khan, IGI Global editor, world renowned academic leader, and mentor in the world of e-Learning, was invited to open the NATO e-Learning Forum on Thursday, September 23. Known as the father of modern e-Learning, Dr. Khan has been honored with many awards and worldwide acclamation throughout his career. IGI Global is proud to have him as a member of our contributory staff.

The Eighth Annual e-Learning Forum was held at the Virginia Modelling and Simulation Centre in Suffolk, Virginia, from Dr. Khan's opening on September 23 through Saturday, September 25. The event brings together developers, academics and users of e-Learning to discuss and develop new ideas for continuing the development of quality, efficient, relevant, and cost effective online education and training.

In his opening statement, Dr. Khan addressed the essential framework that is necessary to foster effective e-Learning development. "Supplying online courses is not the final objective," he said. "Supplying online courses that meet all the objectives, fit the purpose, and are instructionally sound as well as fully relevant to the student are."
