It was established in 1973 as an independent pan-African research organisation primarily focusing on social sciences research in Africa. CODESRIA's annual conference brings together researchers and scholars from all over the world, united under the theme of African development and advancement. This year's conference was held from June 8th-12th and featured a panel organized by IGI Global editor Dr. Evans Osabuohien. Among attendees was the Zimbabwean Ambassador to Senegal.

Dr. Osabuohien's panel session was entitled "From Impressive Growth to Inclusiveness: Large-scale Land Deals and Households' Livelihood in SSA." The panel included several contributors from his recent title, Handbook of Research on In-Country Determinants and Implications of Foreign Land Acquisitions, a premier reference that examines the economic, sociological, and environmental issues surrounding land transactions and the impact these deals may have on local households and communities. Focusing on international issues as well as domestic concerns, this publication is a useful reference for policymakers, academics, researchers, and advanced-level students in various disciplines.

Part of the Advances in Finance, Accounting, and Economics (AFAE) Book Series, this collection aims to publish comprehensive and informative titles in all areas of economics and economic theory, finance, and accounting to assist in advancing the available knowledge and providing for further research development in these dynamic fields.
