Hershey, PA – October 23, 2013 – IGI Global, a leading publisher of scholarly publications and databases, continuously seeks to support the advancement of knowledge resources and services in academic libraries. As part of this initiative, we are proud to continue our Academic Librarian Sponsorship Program, which sponsors librarians’ attendance of the industry’s most important events.

In recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of Library Information Science, IGI Global is pleased to honor Acquisitions Librarian Jennifer Culley of the University of Southern Mississippi with a $500 stipend for attendance of the 2013 Charleston Conference.

Held from November 6th-9th in Charleston, South Carolina, the 33rd Annual Charleston Conference will focus on issues in book and serial acquisition, entitled “Too Much Is Not Enough!” Visit the conference website here: http://www.katina.info/conference/.

Ms. Jennifer Culley is the Acquisitions Librarian at The University of Southern Mississippi. She has worked there for a little over a year, and recently took over as Book Review Editor of Mississippi Libraries, a publication of the Mississippi Library Association. Prior to her work at Southern Miss, she worked in numerous library departments at several libraries in Virginia, as well as The University of Alabama Special Collections Library. She received her M.L.I.S. from Alabama and an undergraduate degree in Public Administration from James Madison University. This is her first time attending the Charleston Conference. She is interested in e-books, particularly Demand Driven Acquisitions programs.

“I am very excited to be attending the Charleston Conference for the first time, and am honored to be chosen as the winner of the IGI Global’s Academic Librarian Sponsorship Award. I look forward to learning more about acquisitions, especially of e-books. I am very interested to hear about new and emerging technologies in this field and to have the opportunity to network with other acquisitions librarians. My attendance will allow me to bring back new ideas and information to my library and help us further our mission to provide the best resources and services to our patrons.”
