The 2015 ALA Midwinter Meeting, held from Friday, January 30th to Tuesday, February 3rd at the McCormick Place West in Chicago, IL, USA, proved to be another successful opportunity for librarians, teachers, vendors, and publishers to meet.

Each year, the Midwinter conference draws more than 10,000 leaders and staff, educators, writers, publishers, friends of libraries, trustees, special guests and exhibitors from the library and information industry for some 2,400 meetings, programs, discussion groups, events, in-depth conversations and exhibits, united by the theme “The conversation starts here."

Although the weather yielded more than just a few snow flurries (19 inches total for the weekend), the IGI Global booth (#2226) was nonetheless busy with database demonstrations, content presentations, meetings, and giveaways.

Among the takeaway pieces of Hershey’s chocolate, IGI Global pens, luggage tags, and bags – popular items for those stopping by the booth – IGI Global’s booth also featured book and journal displays, media stations, and information about the latest IGI Global promotions, including free database trials for institutions and corporations, new search functionality on the InfoSci® platform, as well as the ongoing offer of free lifetime electronic access with print purchase for all IGI Global books or journals.

Also featured at ALA Midwinter was IGI Global’s new InfoSci®-Dictionary App, now available for free download on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Visitors who stopped by the booth were eligible to enter for a chance to win a $100 Visa Gift Card. The winner of IGI Global’s ALA Midwinter 2015 Visa Gift Card drawing is Lee Cummings, Subject Librarian for Engineering at Binghamton University Libraries, New York, USA. Congratulations, Lee!
