A. Malizia

Alessio Malizia is currently with the DEI group holding a Lecturer position at the University Carlos III, at Madrid, Spain. He holds a degree in Computer Science and Ph.D. in Computer Science from University Sapienza of Rome, Italy (Thesis title: a Cooperative-Relational Approach to Digital Library Environments). From 1999 to 2002 he worked for the Rome IBM Tivoli Laboratory, and Silicon Graphics. From 2003 to 2004, he was Visiting Researcher at the XEROX PARC (Palo Alto Research Center, Palo Alto, CA, USA) in the ISTL (Information Science and Technology) Lab working on visualization and small display devices. He authored the book “Mobile 3D Graphics” published by Springer (September 2006). Until February 2007, he was a Research Fellow at the Computer Science Department of the University Sapienza of Rome, Italy. In the past his research activities focused on theory and algorithms for pattern recognition, machine learning and visualization. Today he is working on Human Computer Interaction, Visual Languages and Social Networks.
