Alexandros Nanopoulos

Dr. Alexandros Nanopoulos received his undergraduate degree in computer science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 1996 and obtained his Ph.D. ("Techniques for Non-Relational Data Mining") from the same institute (February 2003). Dr. Nanopoulos was born in Craiova, Romania, in 1974. He is the co-author of more than 20 articles in international journals and conferences, also co-author of the monograph "Advanced Signature Techniques for Multimedia and Web Applications". His research interests are spatial and Web mining, integration of data mining with DBMSs, and spatial database indexing.
