Angela M. Powell

Angela M. Powell, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Human Services at Lone Star College - Houston North in Houston, Texas. She is a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and a Texas Certified School Counselor. She has 17 years of counseling experience and has been in the educational field for 20 years. Dr. Powell is an active member of several professional counseling associations. She has been invited to train school counselors in working with students with trauma and has facilitated numerous conference presentations and workshops on the impact of trauma in the African American community. Her research interests include school counseling, youth trauma, anxiety, and depression.
