Belgin Arslan-Cansever

Belgin Arslan-Cansever is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education, Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. She holds PhD in Sociology of Institutions, MA (Classroom Teaching) degrees. In 2005 she received Socrates / Erasmus scholarship to work as a visiting researcher at Haagse Hogeschool in Lahey, the Netherlands. She received her Master’s Degree in 2006. Though in 2009, she served as the visiting scholar at the Faculty of Education, Durham University in United Kingdom. She completed her PhD in 2010. She has published articles on national and international journals, co-authored a book, and written book chapters as well as giving presentations and projects completed. Also she prepared with her colleagues and candidate teachers four exhibitions about teaching and learning materials for preschool and primary school. Her main area of interests includes media literacy, child/adolescent-Internet interaction, material design in education, teacher education, leisure in child/adolescent life and intercultural comparative studies in educational sociology.
