Bijan Shirinzadeh

Bijan Shirinzadeh holds qualifications in BE (Mechanical), BE (Aerospace), MSE (Mechanical), and MSE (Aerospace) from the University of Michigan, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering (robotics and automation) from the University of Western Australia. He has held various positions in academia and industry, including fellow at the University of Western Australia and senior research scientist at Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organization, Australia. Dr. Shirinzadeh is currently an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Monash University, Australia. He is the director of Mechatronics Engineering degree program at Monash University, coordinating the mechatronics undergraduate program activities of the engineering faculty. He is also the director of Robotics & Mechatronics Research Laboratory, which he established in 1994. His current research interests include micro-nano manipulation mechanisms and systems, intelligent sensing and control, kinematics and dynamics of mechanisms, automation and automated manufacturing, intelligent mechatronics and autonomous systems, robotic-assisted minimally invasive microsurgery, biomechatronics, and complex systems modelling and analysis. Dr. Shirinzadeh has published in more than 200 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers in the above areas of research.
