Brian J. Corbitt

Professor Brian Corbitt, is Pro Vice Chancellor (Online Services). He is responsible for the integration of systems that support Deakin’s commitment to online support for teaching and learning. Dr. Corbitt is a Professor of Information Systems and Head of School in the School of Information Systems at Deakin University in Melbourne (2001-2002). He had previously been JADE Professor of eCommerce at Victoria University of Wellington from 200-2001. Prior to that Professor Corbitt taught Information Systems and Management at the University of Melbourne in the Department of Information Systems and at Monash in the Department of Management. He was also Head of College, International House in the University of Melbourne. His research specializes in Electronic Commerce and IT policy development, analysis and implementation in Business Modeling and Electronic Commerce trade relationships, and knowledge management and e-learning in tertiary institutions. His published research includes over 100 scholarly publications in journals and books and includes joint authorship of four books. Professor Corbitt recently completed a 5 year consultancy to the Thai Ministry of University Affairs on management reform and change in the Thai public university sector through the TASEAP Project. He has also been consulting to New Zealand and Australian companies on the development and implementation of B2B exchanges applicable to SMEs.
