Burak Kantarci

Burak Kantarci is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Kantarci received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 2005 and 2009, respectively, and he completed the major content of his PhD thesis at the University of Ottawa between 2007 and 2008 under the supervision of Prof. Hussein Mouftah. He was the recipient of the Siemens Excellence Award in 2005 for his contributions to the optical burst switching research. He has co-authored seventeen articles in established journals and fifty-two papers in many flagship conferences, and he has contributed to eight book chapters. He is the co-editor of Communication Infrastructures for Cloud Computing. He has been serving in the Technical Program Committees of Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks Symposium, Optical Networks Symposium and Green Communication Systems Track of the Selected Areas in Communications Symposium of IEEE GLOBECOM and IEEE ICC conferences. He is also co-chairing the International Workshop on Management of Cloud Systems. Dr. Kantarci is a Senior Member of the IEEE, and a founding member of the IEEE Communications Society’s Technical Sub-committee on Green Communications and Computing.
