Darren Dalcher
Darren Dalcher is Professor of Project Management at the University of Hertfordshire and is the Founding Director of the National Centre for Project Management, an interdisciplinary center of excellence operating in collaboration with industry, government, charities, NGOs, and the learned societies. He has been named one of the top 10 “movers and shapers” in project management by the Association for Project Management and has also been voted Project Magazine’s Academic of the Year for his contribution in “integrating and weaving academic work with practice.” Dr. Dalcher has built a reputation as a leader and innovator in the area of practice-based education and reflection in project management and has worked with many major industrial, commercial, and charitable organizations and government bodies. He is active in numerous international committees, steering groups, and editorial boards. Dr. Dalcher is heavily involved in organizing international conferences and has delivered many keynote addresses and tutorials. He has written over 200 refereed papers and book chapters on project management and software engineering. He is Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Software: Evolution and Process and Editor of the Advances in Project Management and Fundamentals of Project Management book series published by Routledge. Dr. Dalcher is a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and the Royal Society of Arts. In 2011, he was awarded a prestigious Honorary Fellowship from the Association for Project Management for his outstanding contribution to project management.
