Dilara Balcı Gülpınar

Dilara Balcı Gülpınar was born in 1985 in İzmir, Turkey. She graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Cinema-TV. During her education, she worked as an assistant director and editor on television productions and directed short films that were screened at various festivals. In 2016, she graduated from Marmara University, Department of Cinema, with a PhD degree. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Yaşar University. She is the author of two books about the history of Turkish cinema: Being Other in Yeşilçam and Director Feyzi Tuna: Every Film was an Exam.
