Ganesh Chandra Deka

Ganesh Chandra Deka is currently Principal at the Regional Vocational Training Institute for Women, Tura, Meghalaya, India under DGE&T, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. His previous assignments include the Assistant Director of Training in DGE&T, Ministry of Labor & Employment, Government of India, New Delhi [2006-2014], Consultant Computer Science, National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR-NERC, formerly NIRD), North Eastern Regional Centre, Guwahati, under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India [2003-2006] & Programmer(Under World Bank Project), Nowgong Polytechnic, under the Directorate of Technical Education Assam, Government of Assam, India[1995-2003]. His research interests include ICT in Rural Development, e-Governance, Cloud Computing, Data Mining, Speech Processing, NoSQL Databases and Vocational Education and Training. He is editor-in-chief of theInternational Journal of Computing, Communications, and Networking, and is the co-editor with Pethuru Raj of the Handbook of Research on Cloud Infrastructures for Big Data Analytics (IGI Global, 2014). He is the chief editor of theHandbook of Research on Securing Cloud-Based Databases with Biometric Applications (2014). So far, he has served as Technical Session Chair in seven IEEE international conferences held in India and Technical Chair for three IEEE international conferences. He has published more than 40 research papers as of now. Deka has a PhD in computer science from Ballsbridge University, Roseau Dominica. He is a Member of IEEE; the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India) and he is an Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (India).
