Publications

Methods for Improving Alias Rejections in Comb Filters
Gordana Jovanovic Dolecek. © 2019. 19 pages.
Downsampling is the process of decreasing the sampling rate of signal by an integer. This process may introduce the unwanted spectrum replica called aliasing. To avoid aliasing...
Comb Filters Characteristics and Current Applications
Miriam Guadalupe Cruz-Jimenez, David Ernesto Troncoso Romero, Gordana Jovanovic Dolecek. © 2019. 14 pages.
The comb filter is a very popular linear-phase filter due its simplicity (i.e., all its coefficients are equal to unity). As a consequence, it does not require multipliers or...
Design of Compensators for Comb Decimation Filters
Gordana Jovanovic Dolecek. © 2019. 17 pages.
This chapter presents different methods proposed to compensate for the comb pass band droop. Two main groups of methods are elaborated: methods that require multipliers and...
Methods for Simultaneous Improvement of Comb Pass Band and Folding Bands
Gordana Jovanovic Dolecek. © 2019. 17 pages.
This decimation introduces the replicas of the main signal spectrum. If the signal is not properly filtered, the overlapping of the repeated replicas of the original spectrum...
Novel Methods to Design Low-Complexity Digital Finite Impulse Response (FIR) Filters
David Ernesto Troncoso Romero, Gordana Jovanovic Dolecek. © 2019. 14 pages.
Digital filters play a central role in modern digital signal processing (DSP) systems. Finite impulse response (FIR) filters can provide solutions with guaranteed stability and...

Design and Applications of Digital Filters
Gordana Jovanovic Dolecek. © 2009. 8 pages.
Digital signal processing (DSP) is an area of engineering that “has seen explosive growth during the past three decades” (Mitra, 2005). Its rapid development is a result of...
