Jared Cook

Jared Cook (He/Him/His) is an Assistant Professor in the College of Business at Doane University. He earned his Doctorate in Educational Administration and Leadership from the University of South Dakota in 2019. He currently serves as the Chair of the Leadership Studies Department in the College of Business at Doane University. In addition, he is the Program Director for the Master of Arts in Leadership. Recently, he has designed Doane Universities Leadership Certificate, bridging an equity gap between residential and non-residential students. He has passion for multiple facets of research. He has co-authored a book on post-traditional learning, as well as several other refereed articles related to adult learning, educational simulations, and civic engagement. He has presented several times at the Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) International conference related to project management and customer innovation. Outside of Doane, Dr. Cook assists the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) at the regional and national level. Most recently, he helped design and implement changes for NASPA’s 2021 Online conference, working with a committee focused on inclusion and accessibility. He also currently serves as the chair of the Adult Learners and Students with Children (ALSC) Knowledge Community, partnering with adult learner focused organizations such as the American Association For Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE). His areas of expertise: Leadership, Simulations, Adult Learning, Ethics, Crisis Management, Statistics.
