Joyce W. Gikandi

Joyce Gikandi is an information systems and educational technology specialist; with major bias in E-learning and online assessment. She holds a Doctorate in ICT Education of University of Canterbury, New Zealand, a Post Graduate Diploma and MSc in Computer-Based Information Systems of Sunderland University, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree of Egerton University, Kenya. She is an experienced researcher practitioner and has sustained contribution to knowledge through teaching, research and consultancy. Dr Gikandi is currently a Senior Lecturer at Mount Kenya University, Kenya. Her current interests include research and development of effective strategies and tools for ICT application in the field of Education, Agri-business and Health sciences. She has substantially published in peer reviewed Journals/Databases and one of her publications (Journal of Computers & Education) titled “Online formative assessment in higher education: A review of the literature” has been editor’s choice for several years with over 750 citations.(700e99c4-c03c-4800-8f02-256b638ad6fc)
