Karen Ellis

Karen Ellis has been Director of the Taylor Public Library (TPL), TX, since 2004. She received her B.A. in English (1984) and Master’s in Library Science (1985) from Brigham Young University and has been working in public libraries in Texas since 1985. Karen started her professional career at the Victoria Public Library in south Texas, became a branch manager for the Harris County Public Library System in Houston, then Assistant Director for Public Services for the Nicholson Memorial Library System in the Dallas area, and finally Director of TPL (located northeast of Austin). She has reviewed books for Kliatt from 1986 to 2000 and for Library Journal since 1991.
