Kevin A. Peters

Kevin A. Peters is a career STEM educator and researcher with over thirty years of experience in teaching, educational research, and developing and facilitating programs for STEM faculty, teachers, and students. His work has included programs that operate at the K-12, community college, and university levels. Dr. Peters earned the Ph.D. in Higher Education from Morgan State University in 2007. The topic of his dissertation research was “The Academic Success of Students at an HBCU in Maryland,” He earned the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Science Education from Morgan State University in 1978 and 1985, respectively. He is currently the Director of the Center for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Education (CEMSE). His expertise includes developing partnerships with schools and school systems, grant writing, teaching in the physical and natural sciences, and public speaking related to the retention and persistence of African American students.
