Laura A. Dawson-Fend

Laura Dawson-Fend , PhD, LPC, CAADC, NCC, is an Assistant Professor and core faculty member in the Community and Trauma Counseling program at Thomas Jefferson University, where she also serves as Co-Chapter Faculty Advisor for Delta Sigma Mu, a chapter of Chi Sigma Iota. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with extensive experience serving underserved populations, including individuals in rural areas, juvenile justice centers, and medical clinics addressing co-occurring disorders and homelessness. Dr. Dawson-Fend earned her Master of Arts in Community Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Texas Tech University. Her research and publications explore topics such as veterans' transition to higher education, rape culture, distance supervision, and intersectional feminist approaches to trauma and crisis.
