Malamati Louta

Dr. Malamati Louta is Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Greece. She holds M.Eng. (1997) and Ph.D. (2000) degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (N.T.U.A) and M.B.A. degree from the N.T.U.A., the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of Piraeus. From 1999 to 2005, she was a member of the staff of Public Power Corporation, working as a senior engineer, as a member of the team that developed the telecommunications section of PPC S.A. and as Information System Security Sub-Sector Manager. From 2005 to 2008, Dr. Louta was Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Administration, Technological Educational Institute of Western Macedonia, Greece and additionally was Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Greece. From 2008 to 2010, she was Lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Telematics of Harokopio University of Athens. Her research interests include the design and performance evaluation of communication networks, autonomic / cognitive networking, ad-hoc wireless networking, telecommunications service and software engineering, algorithms and complexity theory. She is the author of over 65 peer-reviewed publications in these areas. Dr Louta has been actively involved in a number of research and development projects of the E.U.. She serves as a member of the editorial board of three international journals, as a technical program committee member and as a reviewer in a number of international conferences and journals. She is a member of the IEEE, the ACM and the Technical Chamber of Greece, and served as a member of the committee of National, European Programs and Innovation at the Department of Western Macedonia of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
