Maria Lexhagen

Maria LexhagenMaria Lexhagen {Kunskapens Väg 1, SE-83125 Östersund, Sweden; maria.lexhagen@miun.se} is an associate professor and head of the discipline of Tourism Studies within ETOUR at Mid Sweden University. She was also previously the director of the research center ETOUR and has a PhD in business administration and tourism with a special interest in marketing and new technology. Her research covers both business practice and consumer behavior and she has published internationally in both tourism journals and technology focused journals. Her current research interests include the use, impact, potentials and challenges with information technology in the tourism industry, business intelligence in tourism, destination management and branding and social media, as well as pop culture tourism induced by film, music and literature.
