Marian Quigley

Marian Quigley, PhD, BA, HDTS (Art & Craft) is an Adjunct Research Fellow in the Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University, an Animation Curator for australianscreen online, and a freelance writer, editor, and artist. Marian has over thirty years of teaching experience in secondary and tertiary institutions teaching Art, English, Creative Writing, Communications, Media Studies and Information Ethics and has also supervised a number of postgraduate and honours students. Prior to her retirement in 2006, she was a senior lecturer, postgraduate coordinator and director of research in the Berwick School of Information Technology, Monash University. Marian’s major research interests are the social effects of information and communication technologies and animation. She has published three books: Encyclopedia of Information Ethics and Security (IGI Global, Hershey, PA, USA, 2007); Women Do Animate: Interviews with 10 Australian Women Animators (Insight Publications, Mentone, Australia, 2005) and Information Security and Ethics: Social and Organizational Issues (IRM Press, Hershey, PA, USA & London, UK, 2005), as well as numerous book chapters, journal articles and conference papers.
