Nekea O. Sanders

Nekea O. Sanders , PhD, brings a unique and multifaceted perspective to her work. With an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, specializing in Biochemistry, she possesses a strong foundation in scientific inquiry. Her academic pursuits further expanded with a master’s degree in criminal justice and a PhD in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Behavioral Science from Nova Southeastern University, demonstrating a deep understanding of the complexities of human behavior and the justice system. For over a decade, Dr. Sanders has dedicated her career to research in criminal and juvenile justice, social justice, and health and wellness. Her work is driven by a passion for empowering vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on children, girls, and women. Through rigorous research methodologies and a commitment to evidence-based solutions, she strives to create positive change within communities. Beyond her research endeavors, Dr. Sanders serves as the Director of a mobile laboratory, providing crucial drug and alcohol testing services at both the federal and non-federal levels. This hands-on experience complements her research, offering a practical understanding of the challenges and needs within the populations she serves.
