Paul Ankomah

Paul AnkomahPaul Ankomah is a professor in the Department of Human Performance and Leisure Studies at North Carolina A&T State University. He holds a BA degree from University of Ghana, Legon, MA from Wilfrid Laurier University, Ontario, Canada and a PhD from Texas A&M University, USA. His research interests include tourism marketing, consumer behavior, ecotourism, sustainable tourism development, and tourism development in Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to life in academia, Dr. Ankomah worked with the Ghana Tourism Board for five years as Administrative Personnel Officer where he was responsible for administrative matters related the board’s personnel. In 1983, he proceeded to Rome, Italy to attend a one-year training program in tourism marketing at the Scuola Internazionale di Scienze Turistiche. He has published several tourism articles and book chapters and made numerous presentations at international conferences. Additionally, he was a Carnegie African Disapora Fellow-Ghana in 2014 and a Visiting Scholar at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa in 2008.
