Raimondo Giuliani

Raimondo Giuliani was born in Bologna, Italy in 1970. He received the “Laurea in Ingegneria delle Telecomunicazioni” in 1996 from the University of Bologna. From 1996 to 1999 he worked as a researcher in the field of wireless communications and radio frequency. In 1999 he joined the United Nations (ITU) as associate expert and later consultant also cooperating with other agencies (UNDP, UNIDO) in the field of human development related to information technology and radio-communications. In 2006 was nominated member of the quality assurance commission for the deployment of the digital wireless emergency communications system TETRA for the Emilia Romagna region in Italy. In 2007, he joined the Directorate General Joint Research Centre of the European Commission where he is currently conducting research on reconfigurable radio systems, cognitive radio, spectrum sensing and digital signal processing for identification of RF devices. He is also involved in MIMO-based synthetic aperture radars.
