Robert Byamukama

Robert Byamukama worked at Makerere University since 2001 before taking up the position of Director of School of Postgraduate Studies and Research at Nkumba University in Uganda in 2014. Byamukama has published more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and supervised numerous graduate projects. As the Director of School of Graduate Studies and Research and a member of Senate, he chaired the Committee investigating low student enrolment at Nkumba University and other regional universities. He authored a project title “Enhancing Graduate Students (PhD) and Academic Staff Mentoring in Publications & Grant Writing” that was approved and funded by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) to host a fellow from the University of North Dakota (UND). Byamukama received his BSc degree in Chemistry, MSc degree in Organic Chemistry from Makerere University and a PhD in Natural Products from Bergen/ Makerere University.
