Simone McGaw Evans

Simone McGaw-Evans holds a PhD from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) in Voice Performance with concentrations in Pedagogy and Arts Management. Dr. McGaw-Evans completed her bachelor’s degree in voice performance at Georgia State University School of Music after transferring from Georgia Perimeter College. She currently holds a teaching position as an Artist Affiliate at Emory University, as well as an adjunct voice instructor at Georgia State University’s Perimeter College, Clarkston Campus. Dr, Evans was the first Executive Director of Peach State Opera company, a touring opera company based in Georgia, finishing her tenure in June 2020. PSO encourages youth participation in the staging and performance aspects of live opera. High school and college students from under-served communities are included in their yearly productions.
