Stephanie Davidson-Herndon

Stephanie R. Davidson-Herndon , PhD, is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education and Chair of the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Jackson State University. She brings over two decades of experience working with pre-service teachers, young children, families, and programs focused on delivering quality early care and education. With more than 18 years in higher education, she has held faculty appointments in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Human Development & Family Studies. Her research focuses on the assessment of young children, teacher preparation and retention, culturally responsive pedagogy, and indicators of quality in early childhood settings.
