Tyre Jenkins

Tyre JenkinsTyre' D. Jenkins , EdD, is the Interim Deputy Cabinet Secretary of the Office of Special Education at New Mexico Public Education Department. He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership in Urban Education from Xavier University of Louisiana, a master’s degree in education leadership and policy studies from the University of Kansas, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Southeastern Louisiana University. He is certified in elementary education in both Louisiana and Illinois and holds credentials in educational leadership and LETRS. Dr. Jenkins brings years of experience as an instructional leader, having served in roles including classroom teacher, academic specialist, literacy and learning specialist, and adjunct faculty at Franklin University and Delgado Community College. His work centers on professional development, instructional coaching, special education, and educational equity. He is committed to supporting teachers, students, and school systems in achieving excellence through strategic planning, compliance, and inclusive leadership practices.
