Wei Zhao

Wei Zhao, Ph.D in translation studies from Shandong University (Jinan),professor at the School of Translation Studies, Shandong University (Weihai), China. From Sep 2012 to Feb 2013, she was a visiting scholar at Wisconsin University Milwaukee. Her research interests include translation history and translation teaching. She is the author of 18 research papers in three areas of translation studies: contrastive study of Chinese and Western translation theories, interpretation of traditional Chinese translation theories and MTI programs in China. She compiled A Socio-cultural Perspective of Translation Traditions in the West (2014) and co-edited Handbook of Research on Teaching Methods in Language Translation and Interpretation (2014). She also wrote the monograph The Prototype and Evaluation System of Dictionaries of Translation Studies (2014). Her translations include A Very Lonely Planet (2008), The Silver Bough (2007), Years in Treating Treasures: Bank Museum Boutique Appreciations (2013) and The Moon Valley.
