Abstract

Electronic development is the process of systematic evolution for mankind and society at large that ensures the overall progress of the electronic mode of learning, education, healthcare, society, and corporate governance. The main objective of the chapter was to address the impacts of e-development and sustainable management education for effective leadership that leads to constructing a sustainable society. The required data were collected both from primary and secondary sources. Primary data were collected from 120 respondents. The secondary data sources included Official Websites. The study is empirical and various statistical tools like Mean, Standard Deviation, and t-test were executed for data analysis. The results of the research study were indicated the high degree and low degree of contribution from E-development and Sustainable Management Education are not significant between Effective Leadership and Sustainable Society. E-development can be effective for creating a Sustainable Society with the goal-setting of improving Effective Leadership Skills.

1. Introduction

Electronic development is the combination of e-education and learning, e-health, e-society and e-governance for effective leadership and sustainable development. E-development is the progressive system that strengthens the entire mankind and prepares to protect the next generations from negative impact of environmental changes (Askling & Stensaker, 2002). Sustainable Management Education is the system that includes creativity and innovation, project development, Interpersonal and leadership skills etc. to fulfill the present requirements of management students and industry without compromising the benefits of next generations(Carroll, 2005) (Deavers, 1997).Effective leadership is the combined effort and outcome of providing direction, inspiration, and guidance to nurture the strengths and talents of the human resources to achieve common goals(Crowther, 2008).Sustainable society is the society with balanced development and facilities to ensure equality, autonomy and proactive standard of living (Hedberg & Malmborg, 2003). This facilitates a healthy atmosphere for the mankind and society to continue its long journey towards perfection. Figure 1 represents the key functional areas and the impacts on sustainable society.

Sustainable society is interconnected and interdependent system in which the e-development activities and sustainable management education system to ensure overall facilities and support to the civilization at present and future.

The society is moving towards the digital era with the consideration of e-development, e-education and e-healthcare services. The authors have initiated to address various issues related to traditional business operations, educations system, and healthcare services. So, the sustainable development should include the development of infrastructure, methods and human resources simultaneously.

There are good number of articles and book chapters addressed regarding the present issues and given recommendations for effective implementations. But those articles have brought to you some general solutions not the specific are related to E-development and Sustainable Management Education for Effective Leadership to build a Sustainable Society, so the research gaps arises. The research gaps leads to research questions which were influenced to researcher’s curiosity to develop the present chapter.
