Earthen plasters are usually made of clayey earth mixed with fibres and/or aggregates to prevent shrinkage and improve strength. Usually, local plant fibres such as straws (Faria, dos Santos, & Silva, 2014; Lima, Faria, & Santos Silva, 2016; Liuzzi & Stefanizzi, 2015; Montana, Randazzo, & Sabbadini, 2013; Navarro, Palumbo, Gonzalez, & Lacasta, 2015) or other extracted fibres (Jiang et al., 2020; Lima & Faria, 2015; Liuzzi et al., 2018) are used together with sand in different proportion (Emiroğlu, Yalama, & Erdoğdu, 2015; Lima, Correia, & Faria, 2016) according to the type and amount of clay in the earth (Hamard, Morel, Salgado, Marcom, & Meunier, 2013).
