Abstract

The role of the Data and Information Professional has undergone a series of changes over the years as have many other professions. Those of us presently working as Data Professionals need to remember the changing nature in recent years and to prepare for future directions our positions may take. Using Zachman’s Enterprise Architecture Framework as reference, we can follow the expanding nature of involvement by Information Professionals, in general, and Data Professionals, in particular. The framework is an appropriate reference because it contains documentation on all dimensions (columns) and at all levels of detail (rows) of the enterprise.
