Ernest Jakaza, PhD, is a Senior lecturer in the Department of English and Communication at Midlands State University, Zimbabwe. He has published articles in international Journals like Language Matters, Southern African Linguistics and Applied Language Studies, African Journal of Rhetoric among many and book chapters in Political Discourse in Emergent, Fragile, and Failed Democracies (IGI Global Publishers), Let’s talk politics. New essays on deliberative rhetoric (John Benjamin). His research interests are in appraisal theoretical discourse analysis, argumentation discourse, pragmatics, and sociolinguistics.
