The criminal justice system is currently under a microscope for a transformation, whereas the demand for universal aligned practices, policies, and procedures can be framed in one lens. American citizens have been demanding an overhaul of the criminal justice system since its inception of advanced technology. Taking an in-depth look for systematic changes is far overdue. Many criminal justice procedures and interventions are no longer parallel to what was applied over a century ago and will take some efforts for change, but little is applied to the recent inception of technological advancement.
Technology is evolving rapidly, whereas the criminal justice system’s position on technology policies, practices, and procedures is stagnant. The progression to making change is view as untrusting by current and newcoming professionals in the field which is also carrying over into the community. This book addresses the need for research towards better practices around prevention, awareness, and intervention and expands on positive social change. Providing research on this topic can change the perspective of the criminal justice system as new technology is adapted and can be applied to these efforts.
