Description

Social sciences have always been an important tool that enables human beings to examine and understand society and how people interact with each other, behave, develop as a culture, and influence the world. Through social sciences, we gain understandings of social phenomena and changes by providing commentaries, producing explanations, and attempting to synthesize a diversity of information sets to formulate theories. Since the concept of change has been the hallmark of the new millennium, we witness a change a transformation on every aspect of the modern world at an ever-increasing speed in general, particularly in the social facet of human life. Ways of thinking that had previously been upheld and taught may, therefore, no longer be appropriate or effective as tools to understand contemporary phenomena and changes. So we need to look at the different aspects of social sciences such as management, sociology, and education to better understand today`s society and social life. Precisely, the studies on social sciences for Asian context seem to be scant as the majority of social studies are conducted in the Western part of the world. In order to shed light on the pathways of building a contemporary and modern Asian society, more research on Asian context is required. This book takes this research focus and specifically applies it to economics, business, and administration in Asia.
