Reviews & Statements

Edited by the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of E-Politics (IJEP), this volume presents 16 chapters, or previously published articles, from several volumes of IJEP edited by Celia Romm Livermore. This reprinting of originally published and revised material is not clearly noted in the preliminary materials of the volume, nor is it presented in the same place in each chapter. While the topic is of importance in today's ever-widening world of computerized interactions, for those who already subscribe to the journal this book is not a necessary purchase.
Separated into three sections, the work presents chapters on gender and computing such as in the work arena, in cyberspace, and e-dating. Topics covered include not only gender but also disability, segregation, arranged marriages, and feminism as well as the gender split in general. The detailed table of contents and index make it easy for the user to find desired areas of information, although much can be found using databases for the periodical itself as well. The listing of the 35 international contributors is not in alphabetic order, but rather in the order of the presentation of the chapters in the book. This collection and collocation of previously published work is of specific use to those studying gender and computing who want everything in a single location.
