Editor/Author Biographies
Evans Osabuohien holds B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D in Economics. He is endowed with a pleasant personality and capability to work effectively in multi-cultural environments. He has executed funded research projects as an individual, team leader, and team member. He is astute in research, which has resulted in over 120 publications and has participated in conferences/workshops/short courses across the world. He was appointed as the Head of Department (HOD) in 2016, emerging as the Youngest HOD in Covenant University. He received a Double Promotion to the Rank of a Full Professor of Economics in December 2017, which made him the Youngest Professor in the University. In May 2020, he was recognised as ‘One of the 6 Youngest Professors Nigeria Ever Had’. He is the Chair at the Centre for Economic Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR) as well as the Chair for Regional Centre of Expertise, Ogun State (RCE Ogun), Covenant University. He is a member of numerous International Learned Societies/Professional Associations. He is a Visiting Professor at Witten/Herdecke University, Germany. He is the Editor of ‘Handbook of Research on In-Country Determinants and Implications of Foreign Land Acquisitions’ (2015) and ‘The Palgrave Handbook of Agricultural and Rural Development in Africa’ (2020) as well as the Guest Editor for African Journal of Economic and Management Studies (Emerald) on ‘Labour Issues in Africa’s Agricultural and Rural Transformation’ (2020). He is Guest Editing ‘Socioeconomic Shocks, Inequality and Food Systems in the Global South for Contemporary Social Science (Taylor & Francis).
Emmanuel Oduntan holds a Ph.D. degree in Statistics with a speciality in Econometrics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Early in life, he had a successful career that spanned over many years in both the public service and the private sector in Nigeria. At the completion of his doctorate degree, he took up a faculty position at the Department of Mathematics, Lagos State University, Nigeria, and later at the Department of Economics and Development Studies, Covenant University, Nigeria. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR) and currently an Assistant Professor of Statistics at the American University of Nigeria.
Obindah Gershon holds B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D in Energy Studies. He is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Development Studies and serves as the Co-Chair, Centre for Economic Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR), Covenant University. Previously, he was Director of the Vice Chancellor’s Office in Covenant University and taught at Georgetown University. He is an outstanding researcher and expert in energy and natural resource economics - having studied at the foremost Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee in the United Kingdom. He is a Visiting Professor to Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique, St. Jerome University, Cameroon and Emerald Energy Institute, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He is a member of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE), Nigeria Association for Energy Economics, British Institute for Energy Economics (BIEE), Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF). He has many publications in journal, published a book in International Gas Pricing, and is a reviewer for many journals. He is Co-Editing ‘Decarbonisation Pathways for African Cities’ (2021) - an upcoming volume in the Palgrave Studies in Climate Resilient Societies series. Olaronke Onanuga is currently a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR), Covenant University. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of South Africa. Her research interest lies in economic and sustainable development. She was a lecturer at Hallmark University, Covenant University and KolaDaisi University after completing her PhD. She was the secretary to the conference organising committee (COC) of the 2019 International Conference on Africa Development and the secretary of the CEPDeR Committee. She is a grant and award-winning researcher: She won the Jean Monnet Network; Trade & Investment in Services Associates (TIISA) Young Scholar Paper Award (2020). She has published in internationally recognised journal outlets like Management of Environmental Quality, Journal on Food System Dynamics, Business: Theory and Practice, and Journal of Contemporary African Studies.
Oluyomi Ola-David is a development economist who is concerned about global development. She currently holds a faculty position at the Department of Economics and Development of Covenant University, Nigeria. She enjoys generating solutions, influencing policy and providing clarity.
