Editor/Author Biographies
K.C. Koutsopoulos was born in Volos, Greece. After completing his BSc degree at the University of Athens, he got a MSc, a PhD and a Postdoctoral degree from the Departments of Geography and Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado. He taught at the University of Colorado, the University of Iowa and the National Technical University of Athens where he served as director of the Geography and Spatial Analysis Lab., as Chairman of the Geography and regional planning Department and as Dean of the Rural and Surveying Engineering School. He is a member of several scientific and academic associations, and presently is the Chief Editor of the European Journal of Geography. He has organized numerous congresses, meetings and seminars and he has participated in many more. He has presented more than 170 papers in various meetings, and has published more than 70 papers in refereed journals and 70 books and chapters in books.
Konstantinos Doukas is the Chief Executive Officer of Doukas School, a private education institution in Athens, Greece currently celebrating its 100th year since its founding in 1917. As a third generation owner, previously or parallel with his work at the school, Konstantinos held several teaching, research and administrative positions in the private or governmental sector, specifically as Systems Manager Assistant at the TC Computer Lab of Columbia University; Scientific Consultant to Project Athena at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; President & CEO, at the Information Society SA, a company owned by the Greek government that developed large scale EEC projects. His main interests are in the area of technological innovations, use of ICT in education and digital marketing services. He holds an Electrical Engineering BSc from the National Technical University of Athens and an MA in Communications, Computers and Technology in Education from Columbia University.
Yannis Kotsanis holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and Educational Technology from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). From 1987 onwards, he is Head of the ICT Department at Doukas School (Primary and Secondary Education). His main research interests are in innovative education, the school of the future, constructionism, educational software, geography and adult training. He has worked as senior researcher and senior project manager in more than 50 R&D programs and has participated in the development of more than 60 educational software titles. Moreover, he is a trainer/tutor/instructor in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses and Seminars on Information Technology in Education. He is also the co-author of more than 70 publications in Greek and International Conferences and Journals and is a member and reviewer of Conference Committee.
